This price is 70.5% of the Gross FOB price and is equivalent to USD 1,821 per tonne.\u201d<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>The new price represents a 63.6% increase over the GHS800 per bag paid to cocoa farmers in the previous 2022\/23 season.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>\u201cWith the predicted stable prices above $2600 threshold, Government will continue to honour our farmers with good prices in the years ahead. Indeed, better days are ahead,\u201d the President assured.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>This year, Ghana opened the cocoa season in September, almost a month earlier, to help address some challenges, including smuggling, and to safeguard the interest of cocoa farmers.<\/p><p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p><p>President Akufo-Addo observed, \u201cWe know the farmers will be sending the wards to school at this time, it is prudent to sell cocoa to meet such expenditures than to borrow at higher interest rates, when the cocoa is readily available.\u201d<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>The Ghana Cocoa Board will continue to adopt innovations for improving productivity and improving farmer\u2019s welfare.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>The president hailed the successes chalked by Ghana and Cote d\u2019Ivoire through their cooperation on cocoa, which yielded the $400 per ton Living Income Differential for cocoa farmers, adding that one of the best decisions he took was cooperating with president his colleague Alassane Ouattara of C\u00f4te d\u2019Ivoire in tackling common challenges locally and internationally.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>He also noted that the partnership had given the two countries a formidable position on the international market to continue to advance the interests of the hardworking cocoa farmers.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>The LID is the first successful attempt by producer countries to influence incomes of cocoa famers through an international pricing mechanism.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Mr. Alex Assanvo, the Executive Secretary of C\u00f4te d\u2019Ivoire-Ghana Cocoa Initiative, attended the event. \u201cCurrent market prices shows that we were right to fight for higher income for farmers. Now we all need to work together under the economic pact to achieve sustainable cocoa that will assure long term supply. Business as usual is not an option, said Assanvo.\u201d<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Among the other dignitaries present at the programme were Hon. Bryan Acheampong, Minister for Food and Agriculture, Hon. Simon Osei Mensah, Ashanti Regional Minister, and Hon. Ce prix repr\u00e9sente 70,5 % du prix brut FOB et \u00e9quivaut \u00e0 1 821 USD par tonne.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Le nouveau prix repr\u00e9sente une augmentation de 63,6 % par rapport aux 800 GHS par sac pay\u00e9s aux producteurs de cacao au cours de la saison 2022\/23 pr\u00e9c\u00e9dente.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>&#8220;Avec la pr\u00e9vision de prix stables au-dessus du seuil de 2600 dollars, le gouvernement continuera \u00e0 honorer nos producteurs avec de bons prix dans les ann\u00e9es \u00e0 venir. En effet, des jours meilleurs nous attendent&#8221;, a assur\u00e9 le pr\u00e9sident.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Cette ann\u00e9e, le Ghana a ouvert la campagne du cacao en septembre, presque un mois plus t\u00f4t, pour aider \u00e0 r\u00e9soudre certains probl\u00e8mes\u00a0; notamment la contrebande, et pour pr\u00e9server les int\u00e9r\u00eats des producteurs de cacao.<\/p><p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p><p>Le pr\u00e9sident Akufo-Addo a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 : &#8220;Nous savons que les producteurs vont envoyer leurs enfants \u00e0 l&#8217;\u00e9cole \u00e0 cette \u00e9poque ; il est plus prudent de vendre du cacao pour faire face \u00e0 ces d\u00e9penses que d&#8217;emprunter \u00e0 des taux d&#8217;int\u00e9r\u00eat plus \u00e9lev\u00e9s, alors que le cacao est d\u00e9j\u00e0 disponible&#8221;.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Le Ghana Cocoa Board continuera \u00e0 adopter des innovations pour am\u00e9liorer la productivit\u00e9 et le bien-\u00eatre des agriculteurs.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Le pr\u00e9sident a salu\u00e9 les succ\u00e8s remport\u00e9s par le Ghana et la C\u00f4te d&#8217;Ivoire gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 leur coop\u00e9ration dans le domaine du cacao qui a permis aux producteurs de cacao de b\u00e9n\u00e9ficier d&#8217;un diff\u00e9rentiel de revenu vital de 400 dollars par tonne. Il a ajout\u00e9 que l&#8217;une des meilleures d\u00e9cisions qu&#8217;il ait prises a \u00e9t\u00e9 de coop\u00e9rer avec le pr\u00e9sident de la C\u00f4te d&#8217;Ivoire, son coll\u00e8gue Alassane Ouattara, afin de relever des d\u00e9fis communs au niveau local et international.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Il a \u00e9galement soulign\u00e9 que le partenariat avait donn\u00e9 aux deux pays une position formidable sur le march\u00e9 international pour continuer \u00e0 promouvoir les int\u00e9r\u00eats des producteurs de cacao qui travaillent sans rel\u00e2che.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>La LID est la premi\u00e8re tentative r\u00e9ussie des pays producteurs d&#8217;influencer les revenus des producteurs de cacao par le biais d&#8217;un m\u00e9canisme international de fixation des prix.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><ol><li>Alex Assanvo, Secr\u00e9taire ex\u00e9cutif de l&#8217;Initiative Cacao C\u00f4te d&#8217;Ivoire-Ghana, a assist\u00e9 \u00e0 l&#8217;\u00e9v\u00e9nement. &#8220;Les prix actuels du march\u00e9 montrent que nous avons eu raison de nous battre pour des revenus plus \u00e9lev\u00e9s pour les producteurs.
