FIRST MEETING BETWEEN THE NEW CHIEF EXECUTIVE OF GHANA COCOA BOARD AND THE DIRECTOR-GENERAL OF LE CONSEIL DU CAFÉ-CACAO IN ABIDJAN, COTE D’IVOIRE

On Tuesday 25th February 2025, in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, the Cote d’Ivoire Ghana Cocoa Initiative (CIGCI), led by Executive Secretary, H.E. Alex Arnaud Assanvo, had the privilege of participating in a pivotal meeting between Mr. Koné Brahima Yves, Director General of Le Conseil du Café Cacao, and Dr. Ransford Abbey, the new Chief Executive of the Ghana Cocoa Board-COCOBOD.

This important encounter focused on enhancing the collaboration between Côte d’Ivoire and Ghana, reaffirming our shared commitment to fostering a sustainable and prosperous future for the cocoa industry.

As the world’s leading cocoa producers, our united efforts are crucial in addressing common challenges and driving innovation for the benefit of our farmers and the global market.

Building on the achievements of the past four years, the two regulatory bodies re-emphasized continued joint action, shared learning and strengthened resolve to drive the sector forward.

The CIGCI Secretariat stands poised to coordinate and deliver the joint vision of our two countries.

The future of cocoa is being shaped today, through solid partnerships and strategic cooperation.

Le mardi 25 février 2025, à Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, l’Initiative Cacao Côte d’Ivoire-Ghana (ICCIG), sous la direction de son Secrétaire Exécutif, S.E. Alex Arnaud Assanvo, a eu le privilège de participer à une réunion décisive entre M. Koné Brahima Yves, Directeur Général du Conseil du Café-Cacao, et Dr Ransford Abbey, le nouveau Directeur Général du Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD).

Cette rencontre d’une grande importance a porté sur le renforcement de la collaboration entre la Côte d’Ivoire et le Ghana, réaffirmant ainsi notre engagement commun à promouvoir un avenir durable et prospère pour l’industrie cacaoyère.

En tant que premiers producteurs mondiaux de cacao, nos efforts conjoints sont essentiels pour relever les défis communs et favoriser l’innovation, au bénéfice de nos producteurs et du marché mondial.

S’appuyant sur les avancées des quatre dernières années, les deux organes de régulation ont réitéré leur engagement en faveur d’une action conjointe continue, d’un partage des connaissances et d’une volonté renforcée de faire progresser le secteur.

Le Secrétariat de la #ICCIG est prêt à coordonner et à concrétiser la vision commune de nos deux pays.

L’avenir du cacao se construit dès aujourd’hui, grâce à des partenariats solides et une coopération stratégique.
