Côte d’Ivoire Inaugurates TRANSCAO PK 24 Industrial Complex

On Thursday, June 26, 2025, the Vice President of the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire, H.E. Mr. Tiémoko Meyliet KONE, officially inaugurated the TRANSCAO PK 24 industrial branch of the Conseil du Café Cacao by cutting the ceremonial ribbon.

Held under the High Patronage of the Vice President, the ceremony was supported by Mr. Robert Beugré MAMBE, Prime Minister, Head of Government, and Minister of Sports and Life Framework. It was chaired by Mr. Kobenan Kouassi ADJOUMANI, Minister of State, Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Food Production. This significant event marks a major milestone in Côte d’Ivoire’s commitment to the local industrial transformation of agricultural products.

In his opening remarks, Mr. KONE Brahima Yves, Director General of the Conseil du Café Cacao and President of the Organizing Committee, stated:

“Today marks the culmination of a journey filled with obstacles, but one that demonstrates to Côte d’Ivoire—and the global cocoa industry—the determination of the President of the Republic, H.E. Mr. Alassane OUATTARA, to accelerate industrial transformation and invest across the entire cocoa value chain.”

He went on to outline that TRANSCAO CI comprises two industrial sites:

  • TRANSCAO SEWEKE in San Pedro, with a processing capacity of 50,000 tons;
  • TRANSCAO PK 24, built on a 21-hectare site, featuring:
    • A cocoa crushing plant with a capacity of 50,000 tons,
    • A 160,000-ton storage warehouse,
    • A cocoa and chocolate training center,
    • An administrative building.

The total investment in these facilities amounts to 130 billion CFA francs.

Mr. KONE added that together, TRANSCAO CI will create over 1,400 jobs and deliver a combined processing capacity of 100,000 tons. Looking ahead, he revealed that within two years, the company’s annual grinding capacity is expected to reach 210,000 tons, following the planned expansion of existing production lines.

In his keynote address, the Chairman of the ceremony, Minister of State Kobenan Kouassi ADJOUMANI, emphasized:

“This industrial complex brings to life the vision of the President of the Republic to achieve the structural transformation of our economy by reinforcing the connection between production, processing, and consumption.”

He concluded by echoing the Vice President’s commendations and extending heartfelt congratulations to the Conseil du Café Cacao team. He praised the leadership of Mr. COULIBALY Minayaha Siaka, Chairman of the Board, and Mr. KONE Brahima Yves, Director General, for the successful execution of this landmark project.

He also acknowledged the contributions of the Chinese firm CNDC, TRANSCAO CI, BNETD, BUREAU VERITAS, and other partners who helped bring this industrial masterpiece to life.

The Côte d’Ivoire – Ghana Cocoa Initiative celebrates this historic day for African cocoa—an emblem of industrial sovereignty and value creation on the continent.

Our Executive Secretary, Alex Assanvo, and the Chief Executive of Ghana Cocoa Board, Dr. Randy Abbey, traveled from Accra to attend the ceremony, demonstrating the shared vision and solidarity between Côte d’Ivoire and Ghana to build a cocoa sector that is fairer, more local, and more sustainable.

Le jeudi 26 juin 2025, le Vice-Président de la République de Côte d’Ivoire, S. E Mr. Tiémoko Meyliet KONE, a officiellement inauguré la branche industrielle TRANSCAO PK 24 du Conseil du Café Cacao en en coupant le ruban de cérémonie.

Placée sous le Haut Patronage du Vice-Président, la cérémonie a été soutenue par Mr. Robert Beugré MAMBE, Premier Ministre, Chef du Gouvernement et ministre des Sports et du Cadre de Vie. Elle a été présidée par Mr. Kobenan Kouassi ADJOUMANI, Ministre de l’Etat, ministre de l’Agriculture, du Développement Rural et de la Production Alimentaire.  Cet évènement significatif marque une étape importante dans l’engagement de la Côte d’Ivoire en faveur de la transformation industrielle locale des produits agricoles.

Dans son discours d’ouverture, Mr. KONE Brahima Yves, Directeur Général du Conseil du Café Cacao et Président du Comité d’Organisation, a déclaré :

“Aujourd’hui marque l’aboutissement d’un parcours semé d’embûches, mais qui démontre à la Côte d’Ivoire — et à l’industrie mondiale du cacao — la détermination du Président de la République, S.E Mr. Alassane OUATTARA, d’accélérer la transformation industrielle et d’investir sur l’ensemble de la chaîne de valeur du cacao.”

Il a ensuite précisé que le TRANSCAO CI comprend deux sites industriels :

  • TRANSCAO SEWEKE à San Pedro, avec une capacité de traitement de 50 000 tonnes ;
  • TRANSCAO PK 24, construit sur un site de 21 hectares, comprenant :
    • Une usine de broyage d’une capacité de 50,000 tonnes,
    • Un entrepôt de stockage de 160 000 tonnes,
    • Un centre de formation sur le cacao et le chocolat,
    • Un bâtiment administratif.

L’investissement total dans ces installations s’élève à 130 milliards de francs CFA.

Mr. KONE a ajouté qu’ensemble, TRANSCAO CI créera plus de 1,400 emplois et offrira une capacité de traitement combinée de 100 000 tonnes. En ce qui concerne l’avenir, il a révélé que d’ici deux ans, la capacité de broyage annuelle de la société devrait atteindre 210 000 tonnes, à la suite de l’expansion prévue des lignes de production existantes.

Dans son discours d’ouverture, le Président de cérémonie, le ministre de l’État Kobenan Kouassi ADJOUMANI, a souligné :

“Ce complexe industriel concrétise la vision du Président de la République de réaliser la transformation structurelle de notre économie en renforçant le lien entre la production, la transformation et la consommation.”

Il a conclu en se faisant l’écho des éloges du Vice-Président et en adressant ses sincères félicitations à l’équipe du Conseil du Café Cacao. Il a salué le leadership Mr. COULIBALY Minayaha Siaka, Président du Conseil d’Administration, et de Mr. KONE Brahima Yves, Directeur Général, pour l’exécution réussie de ce projet historique.

Il a également salué les contributions de l’entreprise chinoise CNDC, TRANSCAO CI, BNETD, BUREAU VERITAS, et d’autres partenaires qui ont contribué à la réalisation de ce chef-d’œuvre industriel.

L’Initiative Cacao Côte d’Ivoire – Ghana célèbre ce jour historique pour le cacao Africain — un emblème de souveraineté industrielle et de la création de valeur sur le continent.

Notre Secrétaire Exécutif, Alex Assanvo, et le Directeur Général du Ghana Cocoa Board, Dr. Randy Abbey, ont fait le déplacement d’Accra pour assister à la cérémonie, démontrant une vision commune et la solidarité entre la Côte d’Ivoire et le Ghana afin de construire un secteur cacaoyer plus équitable, plus local, et plus durable.
